So much elegance and luxury Olivia! I really enjoyed seeing all the beautiful artifacts. My own life is very comfortable, but luxury to me is a washing machine and a bowl of dried fruits and nuts! The book is by Amor Towls, an American. My nieces were raving about it. I liked but didn’t love it. Later I read some reviews that said many things were inaccurate. I don’t know…
When I’m in any social situation, I wish I were elegant. The rest of the time, I’m happy being a peasant who reads!

If you say that not everything is accurate in the book, I need not buy it. For me it is better to read books in Russian anyway. Americans often do not have the right notion about what is truly Russian and what isn’t. They see things through their own lens.

Oh, I didn’t mean to dissuade you from reading it! I was only quoting a couple of reviews I read. It’s a light, pleasant read and I would love to have your opinion on its authenticity. Do you read e-books? You could get a sample and see if you like it. I love browsing that way.

I do not read e-books, Harini, they are bad for my eyes. I prefer paper books.
